Nathan and Mollie at EKC

They were in a talent show. The plan was Mollie would dance and the others would sing a song. The siblings started to argue and nothing happened. That is when the counselors took over and danced around them.

K family in Hilton Head with the Pennocks for Passover

We celebrated Passover, spring break and the golf tournament. Everyone could ride bikes. Nathan learned to ride the two wheeler. Mollie used training wheels. We found a heated pool and the beach was great. Gregg Russell and NO fish for the poles.

Adley Mei Qian G

Born in China, Jiangxi Province
November 18, 2010
Eve and Dave, along with Maya 10 yrs., and Holden 8 yrs. look forward to having Adley join the family. Jack, Ruth and Eve leave for China on July 7 through July 21 to bring her back to her " forever home". Dave, and marilyn and carl grantz will stay in NJ to get ready for her arrival. She has been in an orphanage since she was two days old. These pictures were taken at six months of age. She is presently seven months. We are thrilled to have her join the family as our 8th grandchild. The town she comes from is very poor. I hope that is the reason that her bio parents could not keep her and not because she is a girl. It is a honor to be given a child to love and raise. So different from having a bio child. When Jack and I looked at her face for the first time, we fell in love. Eve will have her in her arms on July 11, at 8;30 in the morning. That is referred to as, the Gotcha Day. Or in other words, we got, have her.

Mollie and Nathan go to day camp

Mollie and Nathan going to J &R day camp. Some fancy outfit Mollie is wearing to camp. She loves camp so much that last night she ate dinner with her backpack on. Also packed it with enough clothes to sleep there for a few days.

Power Washing the house

Jack and I are power washing parts of the house this week.  We are taking turns.  He worked this morning and then went to play BRIDGE in the afternoon.  I was busy at work, when all of the sudden I noticed some writing on the pavement.  What was left was
OVE U.  In other words, he left me a note with the power washer that said I love U.  Very Nice Jack!!

Weekend at EKC Camp and visit to Sadie and Emma

EKC Camp was great.  Everyone had fun. Just a little rain.  We Zip lined.  Mollie was all harnessed up and then they could not find a helmet to fit her small head.  So she did not get to experience it and was very sad.  I could not imagine a 3 3/4 year old flying across the woods.  We went tubing in the lake.  Canoe and kayak.  And all the toys is the lake to jump and slide off.  We had a camp fire and made semores.  The food was fine and the cabin was not.  You had to walk to the bathrooms and I did my best to not make the walk in the middle of the night.  Tie dying T shirts and a talent show.  I will go back next year for family weekend if Laura and Stu did not mind having the grandparents part of the experience.
Then we drove to Ellicott City to visit Sadie and Emma.  Sadie had a graduation from the DAISYS ( girl scouts).  Emma spent the day with the grandparents going to a park and B&N.

EKC family weekend at camp

Tomorrow is a big day. Jack and I are going to EKC camp for the family weekend. Jack has never been to CAMP. I have a piece of plywood to put under the mattress for his back. We are going to share a cabin with the Kaplan family. Should I take the upper or lower bunk? We are packing bedding, rain gear and maybe a little wine! I am really excited as I did love my camp wingfoot days. 8 weeks per summer for 8 years. I started at age 7. Can you imagine sending a child to camp for 8 weeks at that age. The reason was my parents went to Europe for 6 weeks. So we are having a camp fire, somores, swimming in the lake( not sure I like that) and bug bites. No hair dryers. Bathroom in another building and bug juice. This is going to be fun!

First entry

I am having trouble talking/writing on the blog. So this is a start. I am 65 years old. Wife of Jack. We have been married for 37 fabulous years. Mother of three wonderful daughters. Three son in laws and eight grandchildren. Maya 10 yrs, Abe 9 yrs, Holden 8 yrs, Nathan 6 yrs, Sadie 5 yrs., Mollie 3 yrs., Emma 1 yrs. And Adley Mei Qian 6 months. I am beginning the blog for people to follow the travels to China as Eve, Jack and I bring home Adley. She is presently 6 months old. Born on Nov. 18, 2010. We think she weights 17 pounds. She was left at the orphanage at 2 days of age. She is in the Zhangshu SWI, in Jiangxi Province. Eve and Dave waited for 5 years for the paper work to be processed and given this special gift of a baby.
SO -- Here is my story!
