VH go to NYC

The VH went to NYC to celebrate Sadie's birthday. It almost was cancelled as Emma came down with Shingles. Not chicken Pox or poison ivy. She was complaining of a rash and it hurt, was painful. Picture of her bum.

It was decided if she was well enough to sweep the rug then off to NYC they go.

They stayed at the Waldorf hotel where Sadie has been before. Aunt Sally was going to meet them for lunch. She cancelled because of the shingles. Eve and kids where going to meet at the Statue of Liberty and they cancelled. No one wanted near the rash.

The K went to Phil to visit Stu's family. Grandma Grace has been sick for years with Alzheimer's. Mollie said she wanted to visit her. So they took her and Mollie sang songs to her. It is a cute and also a very said picture. Grace was a lovely, pretty woman when I met her fourteen years ago. But I could tell at the wedding that she was losing it. She raised four successful sons. Had a wonderful husband. Traveled on 16 Tauck tours all around the world. Grace and Abe bought an extensive art collection. The boys are dividing it up. So sad to see what happens to a person as they age and die.

Maya at camp. She is having a great time. So busy, I have not gotten a letter

This is a war boat.

Maya has done two races and one regatta since at camp. Biking, swimming and running are part of every day.

The VH girls went Jewerly shopping.

The end of a baseball game requires a treat.

Elyse Averbach got engaged to Josh Welpin on her birthday, July 22.
Josh, Julia. Sol, Elyse, Pearl. Very exciting. Josh owns Sushi. Bars in the Cincinnati Ohio area.

Abe and Nathan come home from camp.

They were gone for 4 weeks. Abe is going back for 3 more and Nathan will do one week camps at home. It was a fast four weeks for me. And so nice to have the home again. They are SO handsome, my boys.

We got a pizza for the welcome home lunch. Abe drank his Arizona tea. Sat. Night we had lamp chops and a home made banana cake for dinner. Abe loves lamb chops. Mollie thinks she loves them and Nathan is still a carb eater. We ate three packages and if we had cooked a forth, it would have been eaten. The men watched Oceans 11 and the girls watched stupid programs Mollie likes. We kissed Abe goodbye and he is off for three more weeks of camp fun.

The kids home together.

Sadie and Emma go Jewerly shopping.

It will be nice when she smiles with her mouth open.

Gotcha Day plus 3

Adley went to visit Claire and Lelia.
Leila ,her brother and Adley.

July 2011 in China.

Gotcha day one year.

July 2014

Leila, Gina,Eve and Adley, Lillian from the adoption agency, Ellen and Claire.

Beginning of the day.

End of the day and all pooped out.

I love all my grandchild. But I look at this one little girl and feel a happy and sad at the same time. She is such a love and there is a family in China that missed out raising this child. I will always wonder the Why WHY she was available to adopt. But we are so lucky to have her in our family. I will never forget the experience to going to China and helping to bring her home.

4th of July

Paul Weinstein at a picnic at Rosa's house.

We always went downtown for the fire works. The city added the 3 Rivers Regatta to the weekend. This made the downtown much more crowded and no safe to take a little child. So now we take our chairs and walk to the Fox Chapel Field Club golf course. Put down the chairs with a couple hundred other people and watch their fire works. I feel sad that Mollie will never see the Pittsburgh fire works. But it is just too hard to go to town now. Also we are older.

Lenke Glowdowski , mother of Pearl Averbach died this week. She was 89 years old. This, picture was taken about 20 years ago when Lenke was 68 years with baby Julia.

The kids are having a wonderful time at camp.

Letter from Abe.

Adley and Eve came to Pgh for a visit.
We went to the Children's Museum. Mollie slept over since her parents were on a get away weekend.

Luch was a hot dog. But Adley did not eat it.

There is a water floor. This is a blackboard.

Maya had the 13 th birthday. She wanted Doc Martin shoes. So that was the gift.

Kailani lives in Akron Ohio. Her parents were in China the same time we adopted Adley. She and her wonderful parents came for a visit. It was so special to see the two girls together. Kailani was a sorry sight in China. Shut down and sad. Then her parents got sick. But today she is a delightful healthy girl. The parents waited 17 years to be parents. It is such a blessing.

Laura and Stu went on a weekend get away at Bedford Springs. Mollie had a vacation at our house.

Baby Eva is 11 months old.

Mollie had a new batch of nail polishes to try.

I look forward to the day when Maya will smile with her mouth open. She is hiding her braces.

Mollie and Stuart having a talk.

I took Mollie to the club for a swim. It started to rain HEAVY and since there was no thunder, she continued to swim.
