Fun in Florida, Mollie, Sadie

Each week , Mollie has science class with the best teacher. She brings in many objects and explains her topic so well. She also send photos of the class to the parents. Here is the snow flake that Mollie made after learning how they are formed.
Everyone making their snow flakes.

Here is a lesson about ICE. Different ways you can melt it. They took pipettes and dipped them in warm colored water. They made holes in the ice.

Dripped the colored water over the ice.

Sadie auditioned to model for the American Girl Doll Store. And will be in a fashion show on March 23. Unfortunately we will not be able to attend.
Here she is walking the runway for the audition.

We had a Chavarah this week. Richard and Thea made a game of trivia with some Jewish questions in it. Was really enjoyable.
The weather is wonderful and we are on the beach in the afternoons.
We wen to lunch at Harold's diner in HHI with friends. It is a hamburger place. You walk in and the help yell at you and insult you. You have to learn the procedure of how to order the sandwiches. We were sitting at the counter. Kathy was facing me and we were talking. The waiter placed a plastic mouse in front of her. She turned around and did have a little scare.

Trip to Florida. We drove down on Thursday and visited one night with Marcie F. As usual she cooked us the best dinner. Marcie and I went for a long walk in the morning and Jack met Howard B for coffee. Then we moved to the B's apartment for three nights. Out to dinner at a fish place. Very good food and people.

Saturday night we drove to Miami Beach for dinner with Aunt Reda and Uncle Bert K and cousins Marlene and Jeff K. Aunt Reda had shrimp and three cheeses for a snack. We then went to Carabas for dinner. We had a major problem parking at their apartment building. And then there were no places to park around the rest. The valet was filled. We got parked. But Jeff and Marlene did not arrive and we waited and waited. Bert got completely undone. Once we were all finally at the table, the food was good and we laughed and laughed. Jack and I had mussels in a butter sauce. He did not move far from the toilet the next day. Creamy rich foods do not do well with him. It was the night before a marathon and tables were filled with young people eating noodles/ carbs. Reba and Bert are in their late eighties and just in wonderful health. Jeff has Parkinson's. disease and seemed better than last year. He has gotten thin and that is good.

Jack and Howard in the hot tub.

We visited Sally and Cliff for one night. Ate hard shell crabs abc bagels at the club house in the AM. Everyone goes there for breakfast as it is free, very costly country club so you are paying for the bagel. They have a bowl for people to throw the insides of the bagel into. That keeps the members thin and very good looking. This is a very young group of senior citizens.
Betty Lou is also visiting.

Holden, Adley and Friday are a team in the AM. Here they are having fun.
Adley fell and has a cut on her face. She had to Face Time with her Poppa and have Jack send her kisses.

HHI in Janurary

We are back to our southern house. Eating out with many friends. Jack and I, both got colds and are recuperating.
The K family went to Phil. For a Bar Mitzvah. Look how handsome everyone was. That is cousin Ben standing with them. Nice looking ties for the boys.

Nathan and Mollie having a good time during the dancing.

Leila and Adley had a visit together during Xmas. The girls love each other. They would sit on this chair close together all the time. Leila is from Boston. They were together in the orphanage from birth.

Jan 11 was 18 months since Gotcha day with Adley. We face time with the G family and if Adley would stop getting colds and ear infections, all would be perfect. But she LOVES her family. In the morning, before Holden goes to school she is devoted to him. One days they were sitting on the sofa holding hands. Today when her daddy came home she was all over him. She will be in Dave's arms the entire weekend.
Here she is crying minutes after we got her.

Two hours later. After a nap and we are on our way out to lunch. The mothers carry the babies unless they are too big in the front, close to them for bonding purposes. She was 7 1/2 months. We knew nothing about her. And we fed her everything on the table. That we felt she could and would eat. I laugh whenever I think about that day. Such happiness with every new family, all around us.

Weather in HHI is wonderful. We are having beach days.
This is what it looks like in winter on a cool day. Not many people.

Here is a warm day. The beach was filled with fog this day. The tourist are on the beach. Some even wear their swim suits.

I found a frozen yogurt store just outside the Sea Pines gate and life is going to be different for me. Name is Green Frog. I will be making many stops to this store.

Taken on a walk. The alligators are very large.

It was so hot in Pittsburgh this week that Laura fertilized the lawn.

New Years in Maryland with ALL the kids

We had at least 10-12 inches of snow during the last few days in Pgh. Jack was busy shoveling the snow and we know why we spend the winters in HHI.
I took Nathan to Target and he finally got the gift he wanted. A remote control helicopter. We had a day together which included pizza for lunch. He is missing a few teeth. And a very handsome boy.

All the kids. Finally I got a picture.

All the families went to Ellen's house for New Years. It was wonderful. Ellen wined and dined us. We had spaghetti for one lunch and pizza for another. Ate at a restaurant in the Baltimore harbour for the third lunch.
We went to the Baltimore Science Center for the ball to drop at 12:00 noon. It was very cute.
