The K family come to visiti HHI and Passover

Abe got sick and they had to leave one day late. So arrival was Sunday in a rain festival. Their arrival.

Holden got a nail in his foot from the Pottery Barn area rug in his bedroom. He had no idea how or what was in his foot. Looks like a sewing needle. Dave searched the bedroom and found another needle in the rug. There will be a law suit with Pottery Barn over this.

He had surgery on his foot after a four hour delay. Here he is waiting for the operation.

Back home with Friday the dog at his side. Adley was all worn out from the tension in the house. Two weeks and then back to the surgeon. He has to use crutches now.

He had the stitches in the foot for two weeks. He used crutches and a wheel chair. Then a cane. But the problem is he is afraid to walk on the foot.

It did not take his appetite away. This was a dinner. A banana split.

It was a terrible week in HHI for the K kids. COLD weather. Thanks goodness the Ps heated their pool. David visited with daughters Ashley and Sarah which made it nice. We had a Seder the first night with the bike group and others at the Farbstein house. Very nice. Bernie lead the Seder with the Haggadah that he wrote himself.

Hosts, Sherrie and Gordan

Sherri uses her garage for dinner parties like this. Otherwise it is her art studio.

Dessert and my cheese cake. 4 eggs, 24 oz. of cream cheese, 1 cup of sugar, 1 T. Vanilla. It had a matzah crumb crust. Cook for 40-45 minutes at 350. until it shakes a little. Top with 8 oz. sour cream and 6 T. Sugar and 1 t. Vanilla. Turn oven up to 400 and cooks for 6 more minutes. The top will bubble at the sides. Then put a can of cherry pie filling on top. I use lite sugar cherry filling, lite cream cheese and sour cream.

The second night of Passover was at our house with the Ps and Janice K.
Mollie told the entire store of Moses and took at least five minutes.

Nathan and I went horseback riding. My leg was so stiff that when it was over I needed help getting off the horse.

See how warmly dressed we are. I wished it had worn gloves.

Mollie learned to ride a bike in one day and she took off.

The men also went on bike rides.

Played at the beach.

And Nathan caught a giant fish in the lagoon.
Spot tail bass, about 28 inches.

We went to Harbor town and Mollie saw Greg Russell and got to sing the Moses song to the audience on the stage. How many other Jewish people do you think were in the audience. He said anyone that was going home could be picked and she raised her hand. But she lied. So we could not go back later in the week as he would see her. She is holding her new Barbie doll. She started to cry before the show, saying she was never picked. It was so tense and Mollie was a wreck. If she had not been picked, we would have had a mess on our hands. And only a few kids get picked each night.

This my birthday night.

The official picture of the K. We take one every year in this spot.

Mollie with her blow dry and combed neatly. Does not happen often. She doesn't like to comb it. BLOND hair. I am waiting for the color to finally change.

The big guys.

A trip to Hilton Head Ice Cream is always done. In the fall of 2012 an one scoop cost $.4.50. Now it costs $5. Two scoops cost $6. $5 is TOO much for a small cone. We will not come here unless it is with grandkids.

Superman favor

Nathan kept getting toppers to add to his ice cream. And going back for more. Chocolate chips, Oreos, syrup, candies and more. He was so busy putting things on the ice cream and not eating it.

I asked Bernie to do a science / physics experiment for the kids. He did pulleys, levers, and weights. It was a special thing to teach the kids and I am so thankful for these special memories. Two years ago, he taught about making electricity with batteries.

At 6:00 AM the morning they head north and back to school.
