Adley= Adelson. Simcha == Happy

We had a Jewish baby naming for Adley. She now has the Hebrew name Simcha.
In NJ , at the YMCA, the rabbi did a lovely service. About 150 people attended. Fruit and desserts were served. Eve explained how she decided on the Hebrew name Simcha. She never expected a baby that had lived in an orphanage for seven months to be so joyful and HAPPY. Marilyn gave a speech. I gave one also. I should have written more detailed notes. I flubbed it up and did not say everything I wanted. So here is a sample of it.
3 assumptions in my life.
I would marry. I would have children, as most people do.
Therefore, I would probably have grandchildren.
7 pregnancies were normal. With uneventful deliveries.
Then we have number eight. Five years of pregnancy. Then the Braxton hicks began. Getting close to referral. Phone call it is a 5 1/2 girl. Hours later the pictures on the computer. I take my iPad to the Chinese neighbor to translate the documents. He declares her healthy and everything is correct. A few weeks later updated pictures arrive. Adley is smiling and looks perfect. We leave five weeks after the referral for China. Three days later Adley is placed in Eve's arms and we are in love and I am bonded with this little human being. Two weeks in China to get the Chinese passport and the US Visa and then back over the north pole to her forever family.
I explained why we had to wait five years for Adley. And why China? It is because that where she my eighth grandchild was.
Adley is her Chinese dress and pink sparkly shoes.

Talit Is two sewed together. One owed by Herman Barnett and the other Bernard Adelson. Both grandfathers of Eve.
