Jazz. Mouse is attic in NJ

Sunday was a busy day. We went biking with friends in the AM. We went over and back the Cross Island Bridge. It was a 16 mile ride. In the afternoon we were on the beach for a gorgeous day. 80 degrees
Then we went to a jazz concert, fund raiser for the junior jazz scholars of HHI.
25 musicians from the area played for three hours. We have a great Jazz Corner Bar. We have so many retired entertainers living in the community. It was a hopping evening. I loved it.

Tuesday we had new carpet installed in the master bedroom. A dog peed on it too many times and the stain would not come out. It looks good. The house has a new carpet smell now.
Here is the old carpet. We would get it cleaned and the stain would rise back up.

We had a very high tide this week. Over 9 feet high. See how the dock is completely level.

Diana and Joe R spent two weeks in HHI. We enjoyed our time with them. Here is a picture of the last swim in their very hot, heated pool.

We went to NJ to begin our trip to France. The security man at the HHI airport gave Jack such a feel down that he did not miss a spot on his body. Because of his knee replacement it is always an ordeal going through security. But jack had forgotten to zip his zipper. That was funny. The flight left one hour late from Charlotte but was a good trip. Adley was thrilled to see her Poppa and me, a little. She got prettier and was so much fun. Eleanor, Jonah, and Lila came for dinner. Jason had back problems.

Sunday was a soccer game for H. Friday the dog went to a dog sitter for a trail visit. The G are taking a trip and need a place for the dog to go. Well, five hours later Eve got a phone call. Friday was not welcome in their house. He was barking , peed on the carpet and snarled at the daughter. So E got into the car and brought the bad dog home. We had Chinese food for dinner. There is no good Chinese food in HHI and we will be eating French food for the next two weeks.
I bought gifts for the kids. There was a bracelet and earnings for M. She liked them. A got a Chinese doll. I got H a 68 piece puzzle of the world. He thought it would be so easy. But not so. It took him a lot of time to put together. The gifts were a success and I was surprised and pleased.
A and I made cranberry and apple sauce. Here she is helping me. I cut the apples and she put them in the pot.

H ready for school.

A and daddy. And Chinese baby doll.

Grandma and her girls.

Eating fried dumplings with one chop stick.

A is as tall as me and very grown up. 11 years old.

Mice in the attic. There were mice in the basement, where we usually sleep. We had a choise of where to sleep and decided to try the attic. When I went to the bathroom this morning there was a dead mouse on the floor. I was not a happy attic sleeper! The paintings on the wall are from my mother. She had a pink house after my dad died.

Afternoon snack. Home made apple pumpkin cake and grandma's apple cranberry sauce .
