Hotel. La Tour Hassan
Lunch was at the hotel. Seafood salad
Sea bass, mashed potato
This is for the woman that already had a stomach problem. Dessert was a multiple chocolate cream cake and ice cream.
We had the afternoon for a nap.
Dinner was in a former old house in the old city. A walk throughout narrow streets with a guide , swinging a lantern, from the restaurant.
The necklace I am wearing is from Ellen. There is a charm that says family and a stone from each grand child's birth month.
They pour warm water over our hands before the meal.
Chicken with lemons, Okra, potato, carrot
Dessert , phyllo with cream sauce inside. A three hour dinner. Our eyes were crossed as we were so tired.
Restaurant in the old town.
Modern bathroom, no toilet paper or hand towels. I have my supply of tissues in my pocket.
Sept.23. Our 40th anniversary. The king's palace is in the distance. He has palaces all over the country. Travels all the time from one to the next with an entourage of 2000 royals and guards. He has a nine year old son and younger daughter. The people hated his father. Mohammad 5 iss loved and he is concerned about the poor and wants to improve the life of his citizens. He has a law degree from France. PHD and thesis comparing morocco to Europe.

Stray cats are everywhere. All thin.

The mosque. They are always the tallest building in the town. Most of the buildings are not taller than five stories.
Bathing pool. Around the pool would have been two story apartments for the students.
Lunch. Villa Sbihi inSale. A city across the river from Rabat. Beautiful house owned by a wealthy woman. She enjoys opening her house for lunch, banquets, wedding, etc. There is a railroad track just over the hedge.
Sofas all on the walls around the rooms.
Tiles, mosaics everywhere.
Grandfathers room.
The meal. Appetizers. One man's plate.
Jack's plate. He did not want to overdue it and take too much of anything.
Veal with olives
Pancakes with honey.
Tea
And in case you did not have enough to eat, cookies
The host gave us a tour of the house. She showed us gowns owned by her mother. She never covered her hair. So she had a modern or less religious father.
This is her mother's wedding gown. It must have weighed thirty pounds. Many of the dresses were very heavy because of all the beads and gold in them.
A belt her mother wore, somehow!
Strings of belt
Her office
Guard at mosque old mosque.
This mosque had a roof years ago. An earthquake ruined it. The second largest mosque. Can hold thousands of people outside. The Muslims prayer five times a day. Only men. Mow an can go. But they need to stay home a care for the children.
Burial stop for the last king, his son and ?
Three tombs. King is in the middle. Kind is in the center. Prince is on the fright in small tomb .
In a Medina, walled city. Doors
The streets are narrow, walls area intend blue.
It is not easy to photograph the woman. You really need to ask them, first and then pay for the photo. I would say 85% are all covered up. Caftans and different scarves for the hair. They do not have to dress like this. Many are for religious reasons and many it is just tradition. Widows dress in while. The most religious dress all in black.. They have to be SO hot. And they do not seem to be thin. But why would you care, if not one can see your shape?
More modern and younger woman. She is wearing pants.
