Bridge of St. Benezet. Avignon Nov. 2

We arrived in Avignon at 9:30 PM. We wen to the upper deck to party. There were drinks and music. This is a bridge that was built in eight years but because of floods and wars kept being destroyed. 1600. Four arches remain and a chapel on top on two on them. Since it was dark, the picture is not good.
The French song Sur le Pont d'Avignon is about this bridge. Said people were dancing on the bridge, but that is not the truth. They were in a tavern on the Rhone Island. The music was playing and people singing the song as we passed the bridge.

The weather finally was warmer. Around 60 degrees in day.

Walls of old city of Avignon.

A boat that has been tying up to ours passed. They looked at us. They were not having a party. Just looking out windows. We are drancing.

The captain bringing the boat into shore.

Sailor putting the anchor on post.

Putting the walkway out.

Such a cute guy.

Shutters on the windows. If it cold, they close the shutters. If it is hot and sunny they close the shutters. If it is dark, they close the shutters. Some homes have shutters inside the house and on the outside. They have Lace curtains on the windows. I love the sun and like to look outside. This is not a lifestyle for me.
