Viviers Nov. 1 Friday night walk

We ate dinner and then had a 9:30 walking tour of this medieval town. Known as the bishops town. Was a fortress in fifth century. 12 th century cathedral of St. Vincent. Roman town with the bishop in fourth century. We had a comic for a guide. She was sixty and told joke after joke. As we walked up and down the cobble stone roads of the town. Her family built a house in the 1700s and she lives in it today. Told of a man that got confused and was following her tour instead of his. He missed the boat and she took him home to sleep and drove him to the next stop in the morning. Had to explain to his wife where he slept the night before. Told about an old nun that just passed her driver's license and was a terrible driver. We only had three cars pass during the car. And she would joke, be careful, if it is the nun. She will run you over!

Ear piece we wore. You can hear the guide wherever you are. Sometimes you can not find her but hear the commentary. We have them on in upper picture.

The street was no more that five feet wide.
Notice the cobble stone street. Hard walking.

Man spent $200,000 cleaning and repairing the front of the house. People live in these houses. Laundry was hanging on lines outside windows drying.
One woman was yelling at us from her window. And a group of men with wine glasses were cheering us on. There is a lot of wine drunk in this country. They are a happy people.

Church door.
