Adley as she was found.
Adley's nanny , the short woman in blue, and her room mates.
Adley slept in the middle crib. It has a wood mattress. They sleep on pillows. In the winter they have heavy blankets.
Girl on potty.
Other babies. No toys, high chairs.
The babies in the room now. Such beautiful children.
Two months old
The orphanage. And old age home
This the the Civil Affairs Building where all three girls were found. It the the place that adoptions and old people paperwork is handled. The parents know this is the place to leave the babies. It has a porch so the babies are not in the rain and is where they will be processed. It said Adley was left on the steps of the building.

Adley's footprints
Eve, Gina Mike, Adley and baby Leila went to the orphanage. Jack and the other family stayed at the hotel due to not feeling well. We drove through rice fields and pearl farms. You could see that the town was poor. Our guide said it was small, but it did not look so to me. We arrived at the orphanage and there was a large building. It was only for administration. We were led into a conference room and offered fruits. In the US, it would have been cookies or donuts. They gave the mothers pictures of the girls when they were found . Adley is wrapped in a blanket and is two days old. They were allowed to photograph all the pages of their records. The orphanage has 20 babies in it now. I was not clear how many are special needs and will not be adopted. We then walked across the street to the
" orphanage". It shares a building with a nursing home. We only saw one room, that being where the three girls lived. One nanny cares for three girls in a bedroom. There is a playroom, kitchen, and bathroom. This area held six babies. All of the healthy babies will be adopted, the director said. There were two potties. Two jump chairs and no toys. I saw five bottles. They are toilet trained starting at four months. The place was clean and had no smell. It was very hot and baby Leila starting breaking out in rashes, like she was when we got her three days ago. The nannies and staff seemed to love and truly care about the babies. They sang and played with them. They all wanted to hold our babies. I only wish I could get the videos onto this blog now. So you could see. All the children have the last name for the city they come from. They name ten babies at a time with the first name MEI. All the babies there today were named Mei. Then they have a second name. Adley's is QIAN. The other girls name in meo- meo. She is the funniest baby the name fits her. She is also FAT and loves to eat and laugh. They say that the Chinese adoption agency tries to match the baby to a family. Leila fits with her parents. Gina laughts all the time. Adley looks like Maya did at this age. Her hair looks to be the color of Eve's. But the interesting thing--- Maya and Holden both have Mongolian birth marks on their rear ends and Adley does also. So, where is the Asian genes in which family?
We then went to the place that all three babies were found. We took a photo are the steps were they would have been placed.
This was a very upsetting day. I feel this was a good orphanage. They were well cared for but there was so little available for them. We, Americans are accustomed to so many material things. Sterilized bottle, pretty rooms with princess decals on the walls. Fancy cribs, strollers, highchairs and bouncy chairs playing music. They had none of this. But one caregiver to three babies is wonderful. It was hard to see the orphanage and finding place. But very necessary for Adely to have what little history we can provide her.
