Last day in Nanchang and on to Guang Zhou

In the morning we had a tour of pagoda. Six floors and many shops. Interesting. Driving in Nanchang is a horror. We are lucky to have survived the stay. One trip we almost drove over there boys. I am sure we had one fender bender that the driver continued driving. They do not have a sense of lanes. Three lanes turn into four. They pass on either side and into oncoming traffic. There was also a problem with the Chinese passports. The office had been closed and it was not certain we would leave with the passports. The guide ran into the office at 5:10 and came out at 5:30 with three Chinese passports. The ten families in the other group will have to have their passports mailed to them. That is not a good feeling not having the documents. We went to the airport and the plane was delayed for one hour. We left at 9:30 pm. There was some problem with the tickets. The guide was running all over the place. We have no idea what happened but she got us all on the plane. Arrived at the White Swan at 11:00 and it was heaven. We are now at a five star hotel. The hotel in Nanchang was in a very poor neighbor and noisy. The streets were not good for walking. Their was no good places to eat.
Our new hotels breakfast buffet was every food, Chinese, you could imagine.
The new hotel has thirty families with 31 babies. Coming down to breakfast was a sight to see. Every table had a baby and many with older siblings. There is a wonderful playroom for the children. The cribs were in the room. All the babies are given a " adopted Barbie Doll". The box says, going home. Blond mommy with a Chinese baby. It is a limited edition made for the White Swan by Mattel.
We went to the place to have the Visa pictures taken first thing in the morning. Then we went to the health office. There is a big sign that says
"Office for adopted children". Thirty one babies were there. I think everyone passed the test. Leila, or Meu Meu our funny baby had an ear infection and we able to get medicine for her. Adley was perfect and I think weights 16 1/2 pounds. eve was so concerned something would go wrong. If the child is over two years they must have a TB test. Rhodes parents have to go back on Monday to be checked for results.
It the afternoon, Adley plays in the playroom. Many families were coming and going to the room. The stories I heard are unbelievable. Meanwhile the three mothers spent 2 1/2 hours doing the paper work with the guide helping for the US embassy. We went out for an early dinner at LUCY's. An American restaurant. Jack had a hamburger and fries. I had a live thing in my meal and lost my appetite . It is so funny watching Adley sip noodles into her mouth. Again I wish I could sent the video. She also likes to put her finger in her ear and wiggle it. She has changed and gotten stronger in the six days that we have had her. She did not sit by herself on Monday. She will stand on her feet now. AND, she rolled over from back to stomach and did not like it at all. She is a good eater and we are able to give her a lot of table foods. We gave her a bath in the big deep tub. It took three of us to bath her. I had to hold down the plug so the water would stay in the tub. Eve stood in the tub and held her. Jack was in charge of pouring the soap into Eve's hand and towel dried her. We are all ready for bed with Adley.
