More rain. Thick fog. The drive to and from the hotel in Kalakho went through farms and on narrow wet, muddy roads. We drove to it in four jeeps, stuffed in. Leaving in the morning, the luggage truck got stuck in the mud. But finally we loaded on the bus. Our first stop in the fog and rain was to a step water well. Built,in the eight century. Women would walk down the steps to get the water. And they would carry it on their heads.
Very large
It is dried out now and the only water in it is the rain water.
Lunch was at a hotel and buffet. There were many bus loads of tourists. Cost was $9.
When we entered Agra, the garbage began again. Rashid said, there is no infer structure to fix the problems. The roads are all flooded and the vendors are not working.
Rain and garbage.
From front window of bus.
When we got closer to our hotel and the British area things look a little better. There are good international and religious schools in the area. This is where Rashid grew up. His grandfather sent him to a Catholic school. There are churches also. It is because of the British, that things are better. The hotel is lovely. Enough gifts shops that you can just stay here. Rashid said to pay in cash and not to take a credit card with us if we go out.
The rain was too heavy so no touring in the afternoon.
Dinner was in the hotel. A served Indian dinner. And vanilla ice cream for dessert. The group is now talking about what the first thing you want to eat once you get home. One women wants swordfish. Jack is thinking about a hamburger, fish or a peppermint patty. I want a large dark chocolate bar.
Dinner in India restaurant in the hotel. Chicken, tofu, mutton, rice, cauliflower and some round thing.
